An HVAC system will last a lot longer if you take care of it. What does your HVAC provider’s maintenance agreement cover? What type of maintenance, testing and cleaning will be done, and how often? Are there any permits required, or regulations to be followed? You will also want to have a thorough understanding of the system’s warranty coverage, so you’re not left out of pocket for parts or services that are the manufacturer’s responsibility.

Budget
Finally, the cost! What is your budget for the HVAC system replacement? Work with your HVAC tech to find the ideal system within your price range. Consider factors such as the efficiency of the new system and improvements in personnel productivity. What are the initial system installation and labor costs of the system? What are the costs of the maintenance agreement, and what are estimated repair costs outside of the agreement? How much is covered under warranty? Are there any financing options, promotions, rebates or tax credits available? Make sure you work all this into your budget, so you’re not hit with any unexpected costs.
